21st Annual PATH Conference
Thursday 15th & Friday 16th June 2006
Oxford Hotel, Oxford UK
'Profitable
Partnerships: adding value through quality work placements’
PATH - Placement Advisors for Tourism and Hospitality, endeavours to improve
the quality of the work placement experience for students so that more students
choose to pursue a career in Hospitality or Tourism after their studies. The
theme for this year's annual conference is 'Profitable Partnerships' and with
the help of speakers from both industry and educational establishments, will
explore the ways in which we can make partnerships between industry and education
more profitable. Educational and employer representatives from across the UK
and abroad will be attending which will provide a fantastic opportunity to network
and make new and exciting contacts. There is also the opportunity to attend the
launch of the new Good Practice Guidelines for work placements, a document which
provides a blue print for operational procedures surrounding work placements.
We hope you will be able to join us. Please find the full itenarary and booking
form attached.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Sara Langley at S.Langley@leedsmet.ac.uk

For Papers
You are invited to submit
papers for next year’s CHME Conference,
to be held in Oxford in May 2007. The annual conference
is the most significant gathering in the calendar for those
working in the fields of hospitality, leisure and tourism.
It provides opportunities to communicate on matters relating
to research, including that with a pedagogic focus, and
it facilitates new professional partnerships for those
in the international academic community. In addition, the
conference provides a forum in which aspiring researchers
and PhD students can receive encouraging questioning and
feedback.
